Rex: a summary profile
In 1993, Rex-Technologie GmbH & Co KG was founded by the iron metal company Eisenwerke Friedrich Wilhelm Düker GmbH & Co. KG in parallel with the simultaneous takeover of the Thalgau, Austria-based company Schrofner, a manufacturer of vacuum stuffers/fillers for the food processing industry, with the newly found company named Schrofner Fleischwarenmaschinen GmbH. By combining the technological know-how and the distribution networks of Düker/Rex and Schrofner, synergies came into play and could be translated to great benefit. As such, the product range was continually broadened and the company’s presence in the marketplace expanded and solidified. In 1997, the company’s name was changed to read “Rex”. Since the year 2001, when Andreas Haslacher and Christian Haas took over the partnership shares held by Rex von Düker, the company, henceforth known as Rex-Technologie GmbH & Co KG, has operated as a totally independent Austrian business organization. Under the guidance of sales manager Roland Schindecker, product marketing is by a worldwide network of distributors, with more than 40 authorized dealers supporting maintenance and customer service. In the Federal Republic of Germany, distribution and service is by a number of different contract dealers, all coming under the organizational guidance of Düker-Rex Fleischereimaschinen GmbH based in Laufach near Aschaffenburg in the northwest Bavarian region.
