Almost all sellers pack kebabs in paper bags, aluminum foil and plastic bags. The Kebag, made by Weber Verpackungen (Wickede, Germany), is made of 100-percent recyclable, FSC-certified paper. It is double-layered, greaseproof and has a thermal function. An integrated adhesive strip enables quick and easy sealing. The Kebag is a two-in-one solution because it is suitable for direct consumption of the kebab as well as for takeaway. According to the manufacturer, the pita stays nice and crispy even when eaten later. Since the Kebag compactly holds the sandwich – including its filling of meat, salad, and sauce – the kebab can be enjoyed neatly. The Kebag was awarded the German Packaging Award 2021 in the category “Functionality & Convenience”.
