Mathilde Balzer GmbH & Co. KG (Ahrensburg, Germany), manufacturer of high-quality poultry products, is launching a new type of Paperseal cardboard packaging that has up to 80 percent less plastic content than the trays used to date, according to the company. It consists of 100 percent recyclable cardboard, covered only by a wafer-thin film. This is intended to result in a savings of over 30,000 kg of plastic this year alone.
The continuous sealing edge with perfect flatness completely seals even airtight, oxygen-reduced packages that are guaranteed to be impermeable. This ensures high-quality product hygiene and a long shelf life. The plastic film is easy to remove, and the cardboard is simply disposed of with the recycling paper.
