Hygiene concepts are indispensable in butcher shops. Textile service providers such as Deutsche Berufskleider-Leasing (DBL) (Zirndorf, Germany) advise, support, and supply companies with modern professional clothes collections for fresh food counters and production areas. Strict regulations apply in particular to the HACCP-compliant hygiene clothing used in this industry. Here’s what to look for:
- Employees require access to sufficient quantities of suitable hygienic clothing
- They must wear clean clothes at all times
- They must frequently change their clothes (daily, when going from unclean to clean areas, before serving food, and when they go outside)
- Home-washing of hygienic clothing is not permitted
- Work clothing may only be worn in production areas and the associated rooms
- Used and clean clothes must be stored separately
DBL assumes professional processing of the garments. In 2021, the textile service provider will again be allowed to carry the BVLK seal with the addition “Recommended by the Federal Association of Food Inspectors of Germany”.
