Kärcher (Winnenden, Germany) offers various stationary cold-water high-pressure cleaners for single lance operation. As they can be equipped very flexibly due to a wide range of accessories, the initial investment is limited to what is needed. The HD 7/16 ST, HD 9/18 ST and HD 13/12 ST models are available in over 100 variants and used in agriculture, trade, industry and municipal enterprises. They have a maximum working pressure of 180 bar and up to 1,300 l/h delivery rate.
The numerous configuration options allow a tailor-made design that meets operational requirements. Each basic model is available with a frame made of powder-coated steel – or stainless steel for particularly high hygienic requirements. If much grease soilage must be removed, the company recommends equipping the unit for operation with an incoming water supply of up to 85 ºC (ST-H). Other features include automatic pressure release, dry-running protection, a water softening system, an operating hour counter and the possibility of applying cleaning agents at high pressure. The optional remote control for chemical use is particularly practical: the addition of different cleaning agents can be controlled from high-pressure tapping points. Thanks to a “Plug & Play” plug-in system, all mounting kits can also be retrofitted.
Thanks to its low installation depth of only 42 cm, the compact main unit can also be mounted on the wall in cramped conditions such as technical rooms that are protected from moisture, dirt and unauthorized operation.
High-pressure cleaning is then quickly available at taps installed wherever needed, eliminating long set-up times.
The operating elements are clearly arranged on the front of the units. Signal lamps indicate operating status, leakage, lack of water or the level of cleaning agents. Connections for water and detergent supply, high-pressure outlet and power cable are located on the underside.
The devices are suitable for daily continuous use. The robustly designed, four-pole three-phase motor is reliably protected against overheating by a combined air-water cooling system. A brass cylinder head and stainless-steel pistons with ceramic sleeves in the high-pressure pump ensure long service life. A large float tank not only ensures a continuous water supply, but also effectively separates the unit from the house mains.
