Professional wet-grinding systems

Wiegand (Rasdorf, Germany) wet-grinding systems meet high hygienic requirements because they feature synthetic whetstones that run through water, which prevents the development of grinding dust. This allows them to be used directly at the workplace.

With the “Profischliff” grinding machine, butchers can wet-grind and wet-polish their knives. The polishing stone keeps the knife sharper longer because nearly all opportunities for the steel to abrade are eliminated. The Profischliff is available with three grinding wheel diameters: 140 mm (140/2), 180 mm (180/2) and 225 mm (225/2).

The “Profi Schnellschliff” knife grinding machine creates the perfect finish in seconds. Both of its grinding angle guides, which ensure that the knife is always positioned at the optimal angle, guarantee simple operation. The wet grinding stone in combination with the grinding angle guides enables extremely sharp results, according to the company.

The manufacturer recommends its “Universal Profischliff” machine for grinding cleavers and sharpening bowl cutter blades. This grinding machine combines all Wiegand knife grinding machines in one model and unites wet- and dry-grinding machines. Users can either wet-grind as well as wet- or dry-polish. A flap wheel disk is available for the crown finish.
