According to Multivac (Wolfertschwenden, Germany) the TX 710 tray sealer is characterised by a robust construction and an intelligent control system that enables the machine to achieve the maximum level of output, reliability and flexibility.

Owing to the various design options, the versatile and compact tray sealer is suitable for packaging a multitude of products. The product spectrum ranges from fruits and vegetables to meat, sausage, poultry, dairy products and ready meals. The TX 710 has the same features as the RX 4.0 thermoforming packaging machine, which, according to the company, offers a series of innovative technologies and a new level of pack integrity, quality and performance, owing to its comprehensive sensor system and complete digitisation.

The high output of the TX 710 is a result of the optimal combination of an intelligent control system with a robust, space-saving mechanical design. The machine can achieve an output of up to 25 cycles per minute with air packs, up to 18 cycles per minute for packs with modified atmosphere and up to 10 cycles per minute with MultiFresh packs. The comprehensive sensor system plays a decisive role in the fast and high-precision process sequences for MAP and MultiFresh applications. As part of the intelligent control system, the Multi Sensor Control performs various functions. For example, it determines the switching times for different control circuits and compensates for these by triggering early starts of subsequent processes. In addition, the Flow Manager, another element of the intelligent control system, monitors the powerful servo drives and is able to overlay consecutive movements with great precision and process reliability.

The Flow Manager ensures that the time sequences for the package infeed, the packaging processes and the package outfeed are automatically synchronised with each other. This creates a dynamic process that is very gentle on the product and provides for an extremely smooth product flow.

The new die concept, X-tools, also helps guarantee a consistently high pack quality. Uniform and reliable packaging results are achieved through the even distribution of sealing forces on every tray. The RFID technology helps ensure a problem-free die-changing process in order to maximise the availability of the TX 710. The X-tools concept improves operating reliability, increasing machine availability, particularly for customers who work with a variety of tray formats and therefore have to make frequent die changes. Thanks to the modular construction of the TX 710, the format changes that are typical and frequent for tray sealers can be made in less than five minutes. With the associated racks and preheating system, the die can be preheated to the required production temperature so that, after the format change, the TX 710 is immediately available for the production of the next batch.

Owing to its modularity, sensor system, servo technology, intelligent dies and optional connection to the Multivac Cloud, the TX 710 is perfectly equipped to face the challenges of tomorrow. Multivac’s Smart Services, which contribute significantly to increased machine efficiency and availability, are also available for the TX 710.
