As the German subsidiary of the world market leader Viscofan S.A., ­Naturin Viscofan GmbH (Weinheim, Germany) offers an extensive range of sausage casings. The company’s offers are coordinated for all applications – from small sausages to cooking and boiled sausage and from cooked ham to mold-ripened raw sausage. The product range includes sausage casings

  • made of collagen,
  • manufactured from cellulose,
  • on the basis of polyamides and polyolefins,
  • as fiber casings without a water vapor barrier layer.

All of these sausage casings are produced and assembled in the company’s own manufacturing plants. By using different process technologies that depend on the raw material, a casing is formed that is wound on rolls at the end of the production line. In the next step, the casings are customized for customers, for example, printed, tied or shirred on casing sticks. Each product area has various sub-types that are custom-tailored for the most varied applications. In addition, Naturin Viscofan offers various casings with added value, which enable more efficient workflows. By using Naturin Viscofan casings, manufacturers can greatly increase their productivity.

One of the company’s newest developments is Viscofan Natur, an edible collagen casing, which tempts with its especially tender bite – particularly with smoked boiled sausages and raw mini-sausages.
