Selected turkey and beef salami produced by Hellmann (Bünde, Germany) are now halal certified. Halal Certification Germany in Osnabrück guarantees Muslim customers who live by the rules of Islam and consume halal food that the certified salami from Hellmann have been produced in accordance with strict requirements and halal rules.

The halal certificate considers the entire processing of the salami from cleaning, delivery, processing and packaging. For example, the processing of pork is forbidden and only alcohol-free disinfectants may be used for cleaning.

The halal range includes various types of turkey and beef salami as pre-packaged goods and sliced in 500 g trays and in 100 g fanned packages. “For a number of years we have been processing turkey drumstick meat from a certified supplier and manufacturing various items from turkey drumstick meat with vegetable oils and with beef fat,” said managing director Jan-Frederik Hellmann. “We have also been IFS certified since 2007.” Now, according to Hellmann, the business is able to meet the growing demand for halal certified salami by supplying premium products. The halal certificate is valid for one year.
