Cost-effective filling volume checks
The new IND890SQC weighing terminal from Mettler Toledo (Gießen, Germany) provides a cost-effective solution for adhering to net filling volumes for finished packaging, particularly for smaller businesses. The modern, user-friendly touch screen and the logical menu structure facilitate fast and error-free spot checks. Items can also be created and administered in the integrated product database in the blink of an eye using the clearly structured displays, according to the manufacturer. Filling volume checks, as required by the German Finished Pack Regulations (FPVO), can be carried out using the new IND890SQC while still taking economic factors into consideration. As well as recording the net filling volumes using sampling and preparing documentation that complies with guidelines, the IND890SQC terminal also prepares reports that enable intervention in a process in case of overfilling of packaging, for example.
This avoids expensive overfilling and illegal underfilling. Using the integrated product database, individual items can be allocated to different tolerance systems – depending on the particular standards and national regulations that apply.
Reports and statistics are copied to a USB flash drive as PDF files so that data can be easily exchanged with IT systems or they can be saved in a folder on the company network via an Ethernet connection. Additional interface options enable printers and barcode scanners to be connected as well as providing direct connections to PCs (via RS232). To protect the configurations of the IND890SQC and to make manipulations more difficult, several user profiles are supported which can be defined using different user rights.
